
Yucho Bankbook App, released in February 2020, achieved 15 million account registrations in September 2025. After reaching 10 million account registrations in just four years since its release in February 2024, the app has continued to steadily increase its number of users. FOURDIGIT is responsible for the service design and UI/UX design of the app.
About Yucho Bankbook App
Yucho Bankbook App is a smartphone application that allows Yucho Bank account holders to perform various procedures anytime and anywhere, including checking savings balances and transaction history, transferring funds, and making payments.
Since its launch, the app has been developed based on the concept of a friendly design and simple, intuitive usability, with continuous enhancements to further improve user convenience.

Designing Better Service Experiences by FOURDIGIT
Since 2018, FOURDIGIT has been working as a strategic partner with Yucho Bank with the aim of designing and delivering better service experiences to customers. One of these initiatives is Yucho Bankbook App, for which FOURDIGIT was responsible for the entire process from experience design to frontend design.
In the development process, extensive user research was conducted across a wide range of user groups, and the experience was designed to be easy for anyone to use as a gateway to digital services. The app achieves simple, intuitive operability and a friendly, approachable visual design.
After the release, feedback such as “easy to understand and use, and warmer in feel compared to conventional financial apps” was received, and today the app is widely used by a broad range of generations, particularly among users in their 20s and 30s.
Strengthening Collaboration After the App Launch
Following the app’s release, the collaborative structure between the teams was further strengthened. To create truly user-centered experiences, it is necessary to overcome multiple organizational challenges that span departments.
As one approach to addressing these challenges, a service design training program was implemented in which five Yucho Bank employees were seconded to FOURDIGIT. Through this training, they developed the capability to think from a user’s perspective by applying the design process in practice.
We believe that the achievement of 15 million account registrations is the result of these comprehensive efforts in designing the overall service experience, including the development of the app.
FOURDIGIT will continue to support user-centered service development through experience design that creates stronger, more meaningful relationships between companies and their users.

Good Design Award 2020
The Good Design Award is Japan’s only comprehensive system for evaluating and promoting design. For more than 60 years, it has been widely recognized with the “G Mark” and has promoted activities to improve daily life and society through design.
The app’s UI/UX was highly evaluated for achieving “a friendly design and simple usability for all generations.”
