This program has been adopted as part of the credit courses offered by the Department of Library Science, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Chulalongkorn University is a prestigious national university with the longest history in Thailand and has been ranked as the country’s number one university in three major global rankings: the World University Rankings 2025, QS World University Rankings 2025, and Asia University Rankings 2024.
This marks the third university to adopt our program, following King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI). A total of 28 students majoring or minoring in information studies participated in this round. We plan to bring the program to additional universities in Thailand and to develop customized versions for corporate training.

Comment from the instructor team at the Department of Library Science
“After actually seeing the program content, we felt that it was something that students should definitely take part in, so we decided to include it in our course.
The teaching materials and the overall program content were extremely well thought out, and we believe it greatly deepened the students’ understanding of service design. We were particularly impressed by the importance of service in product purchases. We believe it was a great opportunity for our students to apply the service design theory in a practical setting. This experience significantly enriched their overall learning.”
Background of the initiative
The digital economy in Southeast Asia is growing rapidly, but there aren’t enough experienced design professionals in the region. Similar challenges exist in education, where students have limited opportunities to develop practical skills despite today’s design jobs requiring knowledge of both business and technology. As a result, companies find it difficult to hire qualified designers and need to invest heavily in training new employees.
To address these challenges and promote design as a business solution, we have been collaborating with Thai universities, sharing our expertise in developing design talent.
We specialize in service design, branding, and customer experience design, and continuous improvement support in Japan and Southeast Asia. We also provide corporate training programs. In Okinawa, we run successful projects that combine local job creation with digital design education.
Based on these experiences, we aim to improve design education in Thailand while helping organizations develop talent more efficiently and reduce their training costs.
